My name is Jon Hall and I live in Stillwater Oklahoma. Here in fortune city I live on Martin Luther King Boulevard. Have you ever noticed that, despite the fact that Martin Luther King is famous for promoting civil rights in a peaceful manner, every Martin Luther King Boulevard in the USA is the most dangerous, scary street in town. As you can tell,I like Tony Gwynn. He's my favorite player and if Kurt Vonnegut is correct, Tony Gwynn is a saint as well. He'll never win a world series though. It's too bad, the best chance he had was last year. Unfortunately, the miracle Padres met up with the destined Yankees and were no match. Tony did his part though, hitting a jack off the front of the upper deck. Don't get me wrong, I like other players - Cal, Griffey, Juan Gone, Piazza, Mo, Maddux - the usual assortment of studs, but Gwynn is the man. My son's fourth birthday is on June 13th and I was hoping to see him hit number 3000 on his birthday, but they don't play on that day. Too bad. I guess I'll have to wait six years for number 4000. He'll be getting close to the best baseball player ever, Pete Rose, then. It's too bad Cooperstown will never be graced by the Hit King's presence.
